Pamela (Thu) Madsen, 61, of Glenwood, IA passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Friday, July 1, 2022. A local visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood, IA. The Celebration of Life services will begin at 6:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be held in Graettinger, IA on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Bethel Lutheran Church from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The church services will be Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Pamela (Thu) Madsen, 61, of Glenwood, IA passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Friday, July 1, 2022.
Pamela Jean Thu, daughter of Allen and Doris "Elaine" (Eggleston) Thu, was born on February 27, 1961 in Estherville, IA. She received her education from Graettinger High School graduating in 1979. Pam attended Luther College (Decorah, IA) where she met her future husband, Louie Madsen. On December 31, 1981 they were married at Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger, IA. Pam then attended Wichita State University graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. She later earned two Master's degrees from the United States Air Force Air University. Pam spent 39 years working for the Department of Defense as a financial manager and budget analyst in Germany and Kansas, Virginia and North Dakota. She ended her career with HQ United States Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE.
Pam's greatest joy is being a mom to their two daughters, Stephanie and Sarah. Closely followed by her fur babies, Radar and Trapper. Pam loved to travel. She frequented more than 20 different countries over 4 continents. Pam lived for trying new things and experiencing life to the fullest. She never missed a game, concert or event her kids were in. Pam loved to play games as a family. She enjoyed reading, going to the movies, playing tennis and never missed an episode of ALL 42 seasons of Survivor.
Pam is preceded in death by her father Allen Thu.
Pam is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Louie Madsen of Glenwood, IA; daughters Steph Madsen and her spouse Erin of Council Bluffs, IA and Sarah Madsen of Glenwood, IA; mother Elaine Thu of Graettinger, IA; brother Greg Thu and his spouse Cathy of New London, IA ; sister Marcia (Thu) Masters and her spouse Bruce of Graettinger, IA; other relatives and host of many special friends.
