"Matt was one my favorite students along with the rest of his family! We all shared the classrooms & halls of Sacred Heart in the ?70?s. His mother, Ruby, and I ?battled? with these kids-day in and out and enjoyed every day! As I reminisce my many years in the work force, the days spent with Matt?s family will always be special for me! "

"Anyone who knows Matt knows that he belonged to a "secret society. It wasn't a secret. We have called ourselves by several names over the years, but essentially we have simply become brothers. BWCA Brothers. Like the rest of us in the group, Matt loved visiting the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. These days, it isn't common for "guys" to say they love each other, but all of us "brothers" do and always will through our decades of bonding in the BWCA. Matt will be sorely missed, but he will never really be gone. He's just waiting for the rest of us to catch up. See you later, Matt."

"I was so shocked and sad to hear of Matt's passing. I will miss him we have been neighbors for a long time since he moved here to the Jefferson area sometimes when he went on vacation I would look after his dog for him we shared vegetables and gossip over the fence. Please know you are in my prayers and thoughts. Really gone to miss him. Patsy Beck (next door neighbor)"

"Matt was a high school classmate and friend. I have so many fond memories.... working at Randall?s together, playing cards with his mom, Ruby, and just enjoying his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He always had a smile and some wise crack to share. I enjoyed Matt?s friendship tremendously growing up. May he Rest In Peace. Mark Nuehring"
