In loving memory of

Dorothy Theresa Ferrara
April 27, 1922 - June 20, 2022

Dorothy Theresa Cognato Ferrara, lived 100 years and passed from this life on June 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in New York City of Angelina, (Ann) Loicona and Charles Cognato. When the family grew too large, she had four sisters and one brother, they moved them to a small cottage in Staten Island, where they had fruit trees, goats, a grape orchard, fig and mulberry trees and her mother had as many rose bushes as their little plot could hold.
She went to Catholic High School there, married John Ferrara at 20, had 2 children, Patricia and Ralph and lived in Staten Island in the house they built together on Dutchess Avenue for over 60 years.
She and John traveled to Hawaii, Bermuda, Italy and even to Ischia where Johns family was from. She was 94 when she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Her husband passed in 2003, so she lived alone for almost 15 years.
She was a singer, poet and Artist, a delightful friend who loved to laugh. Flowers and scenery delighted her. As did playing games.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Patricia and Ralph, their spouses Aaron and Carol, her 6 grand children and their spouses,12 great Grand children, her sister Lillian Messina and her husband Joseph, and many nieces and nephews.

For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed at the following link: https://vimeo.com/723348927
