Mary Jeanne Mitchell-Brown
August 11, 1929 - June 8, 2022

Mary Jeanne Mitchell-Brown, 92, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at Vitality Assisted Living in Peoria, Arizona under the care of Hospice of the West. A memorial Service will be held Monday, July 11th at Hansen Desert Hills Memorial Park in Scottsdale, Arizona. Friends are welcome to visit from 9:00-10:00 am with the memorial service beginning at 10:00 am.

Mary was born August 11, 1929 in Humeston, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Faye (Yates) Mitchell. She graduated from Centerville High School in Centerville, Iowa where she enjoyed playing on the girls basketball team.

Mary was married to Larry Rastofer from 1949 -1980 and they had two sons, Steven Rastofer born on January 17, 1953 and Kevin Rastofer born on May 4, 1955. Mary enjoyed staying home with her young sons and later began working in the clerical field as they got older. Mary married Lou Brown in 1994 and they lived in Sun City, Arizona. Mary and Lou were both very involved in their church and enjoyed spending time with friends, family and their grandchildren. After Lou passed away, Mary spent time with her close friends visiting, traveling and vacationing in Sedona.

Mary had 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them at her house as they played in her yard, admired her collectibles, listened to her stories of when she was little and enjoyed a piece of candy (or 2!) from her "always full" candy dish.Mary is preceded in death by parents Frank and Faye Mitchell; brother Jim; husband Lou; and sons Steven and Kevin Rastofer. Survivors include Daughter-in-law Becky Rastofer; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Nguyen (Fred) and Angie Swift (Casey) of Phoenix; 4 Great Grandchildren Rilynn and Rachel Nguyen, Bradley and Camryn Swift.
