Merton Bach, 79 of Glenwood, IA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Burial will be in the Waubonsie Cemetery, rural Glenwood. Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Merton and his family.

Merton Clarence Bach, 79 of Glenwood, IA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Merton was born on September 28, 1942, in Backus, Minnesota, the son of William Alloysius and Myrtle Elnora (Hanks) Bach. He graduated from high school in Backus and worked in carpentry and farming until his retirement.
Merton married Sue Ellen Douglass. They were blessed with four children, Michelle, Scott, Doug and Troy. The couple eventually divorced.
Merton was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Adeline, Louis, Rosie, Betty and Floyd.
Merton is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Steve) Konfrst of Glenwood; sons, Scott Bach of Glenwood, Douglass Bach of Madrid, IA, and Troy (Tia) Bach of Glenwood; 6 grandchildren, Jacob, Shelby, Linnaea, Alexis, Aubrey, and Quinn; 2 great grandchildren, Jemma and June; siblings, Wilma, Judith, Cleo, Marvin, Delbert, Mary, Neil, and Rodney; and other relatives and friends.
