Ronald S. Wood, 89, passed away at his Washington residence June 9, 2022. He was born on June 5, 1933, in Washington, to Claude Russell and Pearl Ruth Wood. On July 25, 1987, Ron married Nellie (Robinson) Wood; she preceded him in death on April 5, 2021.
Ron was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army, a veteran of the Korean War. In civilian life, he was an A/C technician. Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Those who now mourn Ron's passing include his children: Donovan (Jolynn) Wood of Englewood, Florida, Jon Wood Port Charlotte, Florida; Jeff Wood, Port Charlotte, Florida; Karen Pruesz of Port Charlotte, Florida; step-children: Thomas J. Robinson of Washington and Linda Dillon of Bloomington. Ron was blessed a grandson, Wyatt Wood; and four step-grandchildren: Jessica Robinson; Jordan Dillon; Adryan Dillon; and Nathan Robinson. Additionally there is one step-great-grandson; and one step-great-great-granddaughter.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Pearl Wood; his wife, Nellie Wood; a brother, Lew Wood; and a sister, Gail (Wood) Izzattie.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in the Bethel Cemetery - Veale Township. Ron will be accorded military honors by the Washington American Legion and VFW.
