January 14, 1943 - June 7, 2022
Olga Hilaria Cummings, lovingly known as Yaya died unexpectedly June 6, 2022, peacefully at home. She was born January 14, 1943, in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. The daughter of Vicente Ramirez and Maria (Lopez) Ramirez
In 1968, she married Harvey Wesley Cummings, and settled in San Jose, CA. Where she was a loving homemaker, as well as a strong, feisty woman. She enjoyed working for Maryknoll, Los Altos, CA where she devoted her time cooking for the priests and cutting their hair. In addition to cooking, she would lovingly make tamales and Christmas cookies along with her sister's during Christmas.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harvey and a brother, Gilberto. Surviving is her son, Luis Omar Cummings; daughter, Olga Deyanira (Cummings) Flores and her husband, Manuel, Los Banos, CA; her sisters, Lourdes Velie, Santa Rosa, CA; Lydia Edwards, Fresno, CA; Martha Ramirez Lopez, Saltillo, Coahuila Mex, Leticia Ramirez Lopez, Queretaro, Mex; brothers Luis Ramirez Lopez and Vicente Ramirez Lopez, Saltillo Coahuila, Mex; four grandchildren, Kiana (Cummings) Hutchison and her husband Owen, San Jose, CA; Bianca Quistian and her husband, Trinidad, Los Banos, CA; Daniela Flores and Jovon Flores, Los Banos, CA; four great-grandchildren Ramon, Trinity, Calexa, and Kolby, Plus many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June. 24 at St. Joseph's Church, 1621 Center Ave, Los Banos, CA following the mass there will be a reception. Please come and join us to celebrate her life and share your memories with us at 2735 Snow Goose Dr, Los Banos. Please feel free to bring a dish to share.
