Richard Allen Smith

Richard Allen Smith, age 82, of Quincy, died Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 6:20 am in his home.

Richard was born November 17, 1939 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Andrew Jesse and Agnes Catherine Brosi Smith. He married Marian Catherine Schwieter on July 23, 1960 in Quincy, Illinois, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage together.

He graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1957. Richard worked for Montgomery Ward from 1956 until 1967. He also worked at Moorman's Manufacturing for 30 years, until his retirement in 1999.

Richard enjoyed golfing, traveling, gardening, watching birds, and Do-Wop and Country music. He was a man of faith and loved God. Most of all he loved his family.

In addition to his wife Marian, Richard is survived by his three children, Scott Smith, Jill (Jamie White) Lewis, and Ryan Smith, all of Quincy; four grandchildren, Justin (Katie) Lewis, Jordan White, Lauren and Braden Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Scarlett Mcauslin and Mickey Harp.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jesse Smith, mother, Agnes Catherine Smith, Brother, Michael Smith, sister, Barbara Weatherford

Services: 10:00 am Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev Steve Disseler officiating.

Burial: Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Tuesday June 14, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
