May 4, 1953 - June 3, 2022
Kathy Jo Hytinen, age 69, of Gwinn, passed away on June 3, 2022 at UP Health System-Marquette, after a short battle with heart disease.
Kathy was born May 4, 1953 to George and Joanne (Chaput) Sahi and graduated from Gwinn High School in 1971. She married her high school sweetheart, Dave Hytinen, shortly after graduation, and together they raised two children.
Kathy enjoyed traveling to Arizona to escape the U.P. winters, her regular lunches with "the girls," and she had no greater joy than being with her children and grandchildren. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
Surviving is her loving husband, David K. Hytinen; children, David W. Hytinen and Nicole (Billy) Gauthier; her beloved grandchildren, David R. Hytinen and Jack and Brynlee Gauthier; her sister, Lisa (Darren) Montfort; and many cherished nephews, nieces and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Cecelia Maki; and Mother-in-law, Beatrice Hytinen Bragg (Connors).
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4 to 6 pm at Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm in the funeral home with Tim Gurlea officiating.
