In loving memory of

Sarah Marie Ferguson And Wrinley Stephen Miller
June 6, 2022

Sarah Marie Ferguson, 32, and Wrinley Stephen Miller, infant daughter of Sarah and Nick Miller of Maquoketa, both passed away from complications of childbirth on June 6, 2022 at Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A public gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation will follow the visitation. A private family graveside service and burial will be held at 11:30 A.M., Thursday, June 16, 2022, at East Iron Hill Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.

Sarah Marie Kath was born on March 2, 1990 in Normal, Illinois to John David and Brenda L. (Spencer) Kath. She grew up in Roanoke, Illinois where she was homeschooled and was active in 4-H and loved livestock. She then attended and graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a degree in Agriculture. She married Bryan Ferguson and to this union a son, Lance was born.

For the past ten years, she was employed with Corteva/Pioneer Corporation in Marion, Iowa in the Research Department working with farmers in Hybrid Creation.

Sarah was good at bookkeeping, enjoyed anything farming and livestock, was a drone pilot, avid deer hunter, loved canning and gardening, and could fix anything. She was a wonderful mother to her son Lance and was overjoyed with the upcoming addition of Wrinley. Keeping with her love for giving and helping others, she and Wrinley both gave the gift of organ/tissue donation.

Sarah knew her Lord Jesus and she and her father spoke of this often. Losing Sarah proves that life, every day, is a gift from God!! The most important thing in Life is knowing Jesus Christ, ask him in our heart to be our Lord and Savior, and through him all things are possible.

Those left to honor Sarah's memory include her parents John and Brenda Kath of Roanoke, IL; a son Lance Ferguson of Maquoketa, IA; fiancé, Nick Miller of Maquoketa, IA; brothers, Ben Kath of Pekin, IL, Bob (Kayley) Kath of Roanoke, IL, and Gabe Kath of Roanoke, IL; and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Harold and Julia Spencer, and paternal grandparents John and Jane Kath.

Wrinley Stephen Miller was born on June 6, 2022 and passed away shortly after childbirth. She was the daughter of Sarah Marie Ferguson and Nick Miller.

Those left to honor Wrinley's memory include her father, Nick Miller of Maquoketa, IA; brothers, Lance Ferguson of Maquoketa, IA and Jacob Lincoln of Maquoketa, IA; sister, Briley Miller of Maquoketa, IA; maternal grandparents, John and Brenda Kath of Roanoke, IL; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Harold and Julia Spencer and John and Jane Kath, and paternal grandparents, Stephen and Barbara Miller, and paternal great-grandparents Robert and Dolores Spaete and Maxine and Donald Miller.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.

"Sarah was one of my closest friends here at the Marion Research Station. We would uplift each other up through all of our good times and bad. We would banter about politics and the world today as we know it. We always took time to lift up the Lord in every situation knowing that we live in a fallen world and He was always in control even when we didn't understand some of the outcomes. Sarah loved to work hard and get things done. When she set her mind to do something, she accomplished it. Sarah loved those closest to her. Lance and Nick were her JOY...even when they were "just being stubborn." She stuck by Nick doing all she could to be the best cheerleader and support for him through the years they were together. She had so many hopes of being his wife. (In her heart, she already was.) She loved Briley, Nick's daughter, as one of her own. She would tell me all about the ups and downs they had, but always treasured time with her. Lance...oh man! She loved you sooooo much! You were her pride and joy! I'm so sorry for your loss and will continue to pray for you as you grow and become that man she knew you were going to be some day. Keep your heart soft and rest assured - God has mighty awesome plans for your life! Keep the course! Bryan, always cherish the good times. I know you will miss her and she will always be someone special to you. My heart goes out to you during these difficult times. Sarah, I miss you and look forward to seeing you and your beautiful daughter, Wrinley, in the Kingdom to come. Heavenly Hugs, My dearest friend! Rebecca Groothuis"

"I knew Sarah since I was a little girl. My grandpa and her dad worked together on our farm. I remember when I was younger begging grandpa to go visit the Kath farm because I wanted to play with Sarah. I remember a few times going fishing with them at my grandpa's pond too. My grandpa even had a hug he named the Sarah Hug, simply because me and my brother were always asking to go visit her. Even though I was older, I remember I always looked up to Sarah. We didn't see much of each other past childhood, but every once in awhile we'd be at the same functions or my family would have hers over for dinner, or vice-versa. When I saw her, she was almost always smiling. She seemed so confident in herself and what she wanted to be and do with her life. She DEFINITELY got that right, I think... Sarah was a farm girl, through and through!! Also, Sarah was beautiful...both inside and out. I wish I could have known her better as an adult, but I know she made a good aunt to our mutual nieces, and a good mama to her sweet little boy. She would have been a great mama for her little girl too... And I'm sure Wrinley would have been just as beautiful and amazing as her mama. The world lost something so extremely precious when Sarah and her baby passed. I still can't quite process it. It's like... There are few certain things in the world for any given human... Often we take these certainties for granted, only truly noticing them when they are lost. I had never realize that Sarah (Kath) Furgeson was one of those certainties in my life until she just wasn't anymore. Her passing has hit me.hardee than I ever expected... She will be sorely missed, heavily grieved, and always ALWAYS loved. Miss you, Sarah. RIP. "

"Sarah was the kindest, most hard working, loving and BEST mom. I met her in 2014 during my 1st internship at Pioneer and was lucky to become good friends with her after my second internship with them. I will never forget our phone calls, lunches in Marion while I?ve been there the last 1.5 years and random nights either droning or just hanging out. Until we meet again. ? "

"I love the name Wrinley, what a beautiful name. I am so sorry for this tragic loss. It?s hard to believe this is true. I was privileged to know Sarah pretty well. She was so sassy, but she was kind and caring. She always put other before herself. She was smart and loved passing on what she knew to others. I will miss her dearly. I know she and Wrinley are saved and safe. I am praying for peace for the family, especially Nick and Lance. "
