In loving memory of

Donald R. Kotrc
January 16, 1942 - June 5, 2022

Donald R. Kotrc, age 80, of Omaha, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Donald was born in Omaha, NE, to Rudy and Sylvia Kotrc. He attended Benson High School, where he wanted to play football, but because of his large stature, he was afraid he may hurt someone. He opted for track sports discus and shot put instead. After high school, Don joined the Air Force, where he served for four years. He returned to Omaha and began a career at Union Pacific Railroad, which introduced him to his lifelong love of working in the field of computers. After just over 20 years at U.P., Don worked at IBM for sixteen years; some of that time spent living in Tucson, AZ. Once he retired, he couldn't sit still, so he began working for AARP Tax-Aide. Don had a passion for collecting steins, baseball cards, trains, coins, and other memorabilia.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary.

Donald is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Alice, daughters Kimberly Petersen of Omaha, Niki (Steve) Kult of Vieques, PR, grandchildren Alexandra Brown, Anthony (Nicole) Brown, Alishea Petersen, sister-in-law Judy Kotrc, all of Omaha, and other family and friends.

Private family services were held per Don's wishes.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at The Shriners Temple (84th & Center) from 4:30-7:30PM.
