Ruben Romero, 84 years old, was called to heaven on Monday May 16th, 2022, at home with family by his side in Whittier, Ca.
Born on February 8th, 1938 to Raul & Carmen Romero in Aqua Prieta, Sonora Mexico, Ruben was one of five children.
On July 14th, 1955, 17 years old, Ruben married the love of his life Enriqueta Lopez. Together they migrated to California and settled roots in a small suburb east of Los Angeles, Whittier, where they raised their 6 children. 4 boys and 2 girls.
Ruben became a young entrepreneur in his community owning and operating a few mechanic gas stations, and eventually exploring a career in mechanics with General Motors & Ford. Retirement for Ruben was occupied with an occasional day trip to a casino, but he spent majority of his free time cover singing songs by his favorite singers such as Vincente Fernandez in his garage where he built a nice in home "recording studio". No matter the season, family or friends, Ruben always found a way to play his music. Next to his amazing barbecuing, Rubens family will always find happiness behind the many memories they all share of hearing this pillar of man sing.
Ruben is survived by his wife, 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family has not disclosed any burial/memorial services, but asks the community to celebrate the long life Ruben Romero lived.
