Linda J. Bentley, 67, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 31, 2022, at Luther Manor in Dubuque, Iowa.
A gathering of family and friends celebrating Linda's life will be held from 10 A.M. until Noon on Saturday, June 11, 2022, in "The Bistro" at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Linda Jennie Walling was born on January 11, 1955 in Clinton, Iowa, to Robert and Betty (Geiger) Walling. She grew up in Clinton and attended Clinton High School and earned her CNA from Clinton Community College. Linda married Terry Gene Bentley in 1991 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2001.
Linda worked as a CNA and Home Health Aide for Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa and for Visiting Nurse Association until retirement.
Linda enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, reading, and feeding and listening to the birds. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Robert (Angie) Fredericksen of Bondurant, IA, Gracie (Brian) Young of Davenport, FL, Kathee (Marco) Foxan of Maquoketa, IA, Mark Weis of Durango, IA, and Missy Bentley of Clinton, IA; a brother, Bud Rose of Preston, IA; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Terry, a brother Mike Rose, and sisters Pat Dobson, Lana Mason and Connie Whitaker.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Linda J. Bentley memorial fund has been established.
