James B. Smith of Leesburg, Florida passed away on May 20 th , 2022, at Cornerstone Hospice of
the Villages. He was 81 years of age.
James is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nancy J. Smith. Parents, Joseph (Burton) and
Mary Elizabeth Smith. Brothers Robert, John, and Joseph Smith.
He is survived by his children Dawn Dion (Cory) Dennis, Drew, and Dana Smith.
Granddaughters Logan Smith, Delaney, and Ashlyn Dion. Brothers William, and Larry Smith.
James was born in Clermont, Florida February 26, 1941. He was a lifelong resident of Leesburg.
He served his country in the Navy where he met and married Nancy while stationed in New
Jersey. He spent his life working in different forms of construction and owning his own business
before retiring due to declining health.
Per James request he will be cremated with no service to follow.
