April 27, 1933 - May 20, 2022

James M. Osler, 89, of Glenwood, IA, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Glen Haven Village in Glenwood. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Pastor Susan Reed officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Farm Creek Cemetery east of Henderson, IA. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Jim and his family.

Memorials may be directed to the Silver City American Legion or the Glenwood Public Library.

James Miller Osler, son of Harold Milton and Lucille Garrett (Miller) Osler was born on April 27, 1933 in Macedonia, IA. He graduated from Macedonia High School in 1951. Jim enlisted and served with the United States Army for two years and the Iowa National Guard for 22 years. Jim owned and operated his own cream route for several years then he was a truck driver for many years. Then he drove school bus.
Jim and Evelyn Maxine McKinney were united in marriage on August 16, 1953 in Henderson, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Jimmy, Neal, Mark, Joanna, and Michele.
Jim enjoyed camping, attending sporting events that his children, grandchildren were involved in. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; sister, Janice.
Jim was a loving Husband and father, a wonderful brother and grandpa and great grandpa and most of all a friend to everyone.
Jim is survived by his children, Jimmy Osler of San Francisco, CA, Neal Osler and wife Roxanne of Wentzville, MO, Mark Osler and Laurie of Glenwood, Joanna Osler of Glenwood, and Michele Chambers and husband Jim of Thurman, IA; 31 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother Jerry Osler and his wife Shirley of Venice, FL; sister, Jeannie Curren of Grundy Center, IA; sisters in law, Virginia Bowen of Hastings, IA, Janice Duysen of LaPorte City, IA; extended relatives; and a host of friends.
