Phyllis Crawford

Phyllis Jean Crawford, 94, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa. No services are planned. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Winterset, Iowa.

Phyllis was born on January 12, 1928 in Winterset, Iowa to Ross and Mary (Beem) Crawford. She grew up on the family farm in Earlham. Phyllis attended Earlham High School and graduated with the class of 1946. She then attended Simpson College where she earned a bachelor's degree. After college, she took a job at a bank in Urbandale. Phyllis earned the title of Vice President at the bank until she retired from the banking industry. She then took a job with the Des Moines Register and remained there until retirement.

Phyllis was an active member of the Windsor United Methodist Church in Windsor Heights. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, flowers, tending to her beautiful yard, and her
dogs.

Those left to cherish her loving memories are her brother John C. Crawford; nephew Chris Crawford; and niece Lori Lukefahr.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with Phyllis's cremation care.
