Donald William Klingele
March 20, 1936 - May 12, 2022

Donald William Klingele, of Clayton, Illinois died on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 3:55 pm at Heritage Health in Mount Sterling, Illinois.

Donald was born or March 20, 1936 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Norbert Herman and Viola M. Dietrich Klingele. On September 19, 1959 he married Susan Fay Adair in Quincy, Illinois. She survives.

Donald was a mechanic at Saxe Auto Electric in Quincy before being employed for 18 years at Moorman Manufacturing. Donald also farmer and had Hereford cows. He was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Susan, include five children, David (Peggy) Klingele of Palmyra, MO, Debra (Larry) Viar of Quincy, Tony Klingele of Quincy, Donald E. Klingele of Quincy, and Ronald (Robin) Klingele of Coatsburg, IL; 11 grandchildren, Andy Klingele, Megan Klingele, Mandy (Tyler) Mills, Emily Viar, Erin (Mike) Kelly, Katie Klingele, Kasey Klingele, Kyle Klingele, Kory (Liz) Klingele, Duane (Bethany) Klingele, and Dustin (Lydia) Klingele; three great-grandchildren, Ziah, Demetrius and Macy; three brothers, Merle (Joan) Klingele and Carl (Pat) Klingele, both of Liberty, IL, and Daniel Klingele of Quincy; and six sisters, Mary Geschwander of Quincy, Betty (Bernie) Schneider of Folwer, IL, Rosie (Ken) Jansen of Rutledge, MO, Pat (Melvin) Genenbacher of Fowler, IL, Dory Hillebrand of Mendon, IL, and Katie (Mike) Danker of Quincy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law, Marcia Klingele, and two brothers-in-law, Ken Geschwander and Merle Hillebrand.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Services: 9:30 am prayers on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church with Fr. Rafal Pyrchla officiating.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
