Sharon W. Scott, age 81, of Quincy, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 2:45 p.m. in St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Sharon was born February 23, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Ed E. and Iona Henderson Leake She married Robert L.Scott on October 22, 1966 in Madison Park Christian Church. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2014.
She had been employed as a home health aid by Adams County Home Makers. Sharon was a very active member at Calvary Baptist Church and in AWANA. She loved working and teaching children at church. She also loved spending time in her flower garden and doing yard work.
Sharon is survived by four children: Sherry L. Carroll, of Hannibal, MO; Michael J. (Dena) Scott of Quincy; Jim R. Scott of Jefferson City, MO; and Jeff M. Scott of Quincy; six grandchildren: Brian, Stacy, and Adam Leake; Christina (Ash) Rogers, Kimberly (Nick) Tischer, and Kenna Scott; seven great-grandchildren: Brianna Scott, Jeremiah R. Daniel, Kinsey Scott, Jensen Rogers, and Lilah, Mason, and Hunter Tischer; a sister, Sonia K. Hill of Fowler, IL; three nieces, Lesa (Eric) Beaver, Susan Hill, Julie (Todd) Collins, and a great niece and two great nephews.
In addition to her husband, Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dan W. Leake.
Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. L.D. Grant officiating.
Burial: Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois
Visitation: 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
