Rochester: May 5, 2022, at the age of 72. Predeceased by her parents Harry & Fern Hilsinger. Survived by dear family & friends. Fern Mary was a well respected, and highly credentialed, nurse with 45 years experience in her industry. Fern loved to learn, and had more than 5 degrees, and 25 certifications in health and wellness. She became a JIN SHIN JYUTSU practitioner in May of 1996, when she graduated from the JIN SHIN JYUTSU INSTITUTE, she also graduated from the U of R with her BSN-magna cum laude in April 2004. She had a passion for Chinese & Oriental medicine, and she then went on to start her own private practice called FERN'S TCM HEALING CENTER, where she practiced acupuncture and reiki, just to name a few, along with maintaining a full-time nursing job.
She was also a spiritual advisor, who also became an ordained minister on her life's journey. She belonged to various organizations such as STTE- National Nursing Honor Society, NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN RELIEF, NCCAOMM-acupuncture and oriental medicine, an ordained minister for the Lilydale-Spiritualist Church, an educator for COMPEER, and a rescuer for BUFFALO GREYHOUND ADOPTION, among many other accolades.
Her hobbies included horseback riding, donating to various animal organizations, and sitting down with a good book. She was a lover of animals, and had a fondness for rescues.
Family & friends may attend her Memorial Service at Thomas Funeral Chapels, Saturday May 21st, 2pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to ASPCA, in Fern's memory.
