Salvador Gonzalez
March 11, 1940 - April 19, 2022
Salvador (Chava) passed peacefully from this life the morning of April19, 2022, in Whittier, California, at the age of 82. He was surrounded and supported by his loving children and caregivers during the last days of his life. Salvador was born in Colima, Mexico, but has been a California resident since 1968.
Salvador was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed watching soccer, boxing, and baseball! He was a big Dodger fan. He enjoyed reading, listening to music, and whistling. He could whistle with the best of them! Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends over some carne asada.
Salvador is survived by his four children (and their spouses): Nicandro (Maria), Jorge (Rosa), Lorena (Alex), and Daniel; 15 grandchildren: Alica, Devoney, Desirae, and Daniel González; Nick, Andrés, and Amanda González; Karina, Bianca, and Alejandra González; Chloe, Charles, and Matthew Cervantes; Katherine and Elizabeth Villa; eight great-grandchildren: Amaya and Lawrence Pinson, Christian and Joseph Narvaez, Louie Lozano, Miguel Ángel Hatch, Sunny Cervantes, and Sophia Zacarias. Salvador is also survived by his sisters: Socorro Garcia, Leticia Castrejón, and Norma González. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Maria Cervantes and brothers Carlos, Miguel Ángel, and Sergio González Luna.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 13, 2022, at White Emerson Mortuary.
