James "Jim" Newkirk
March 24, 1940 - May 7, 2022

Jim Newkirk, 82 of Flagstaff, Arizona finally retired from earthly work and joined heavenly glory on May 7, 2022 at Hospice of the Valley, Sherman House in Scottsdale, Arizona. Jim was born March 24, 1940 in Elk City, Kansas to Cecil (Pete) and Virginia Newkirk. He graduated from Elk City Kansas High School in 1958. He is survived by wife, Karen and sons, Kevin (Glenda), Lynn and daughter Regina (Duane) Deck; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a sister Mary Ann Broyles and brother, Allan. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sara.

Jim was employed by Kansas Department of Transportation in Lyons, Kansas as a heavy equipment operator; Conoco Inc. in Kansas, Oklahoma, California and Texas. He was a consultant for McClellan and Vick Consulting Inc. in Farmington, New Mexico. After retiring Jim and Karen moved to Flagstaff Arizona where he worked as a relief snowplow operator until 2018. Memorial services will be held at Desert Hills Mortuary at 2:30 pm on May 21 at 6500 E Bell Road, Scottsdale AZ 85254. Reception to follow. Visit www.Hansenmortuary.com for condolences.
