Ronald E. Eggeling, age 74, of Lincoln, formerly of Omaha, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at Journey Hospice House.

Ron was born on April 14, 1948, to Alvin C. and Florence Eggeling, in Stratton, NE. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1966. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy. Ron served from 1967 to 1971, during his time in the service he was stationed in Pensacola, Florida, Keflavik, Iceland and the Philippines. During the Vietnam War he was in Combat Support Code Breakers. Following Ron's active-duty service, he served in the reserves CTR from 1971 to 1973, then again from 1975-1981. After Ron's service to our country, he attended college at Bellevue University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Services in 1994.

Ron's worked for several different companies in his career. He worked as a senior Technician in customer service. Ron retired from Avaya after 36 years, in 2017. He enjoyed time spent with his family and especially loved attending reunions with his Navy buddies. He was a lifetime member of the CWA (Communication Workers of America).

Ron is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Diane, sons Kevin Michael Eggeling, Daniel Conrad (Marella) Eggeling of Scottsdale, AZ, Jeffrey Gene Eggeling of Lincoln, brothers Paul (Paula) Eggeling of Leesburg, Florida, Richard (Rita) Eggeling of Ozark, Missouri, Larry Eggeling of Iowa, Rod (Becky) Eggeling of Iowa, sister Sonja (Stan) Hliva of Danbury, Connecticut, 2 grandchildren, and his beloved dog Ace.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of Nebraska.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 4-6PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 11AM. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
