Kathryn J. "Kathy" Brady
December 13, 1947 - May 4, 2022

Kathryn "Kathy" Brady, 74, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa, with visitation being one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Buckhorn Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.

Kathryn Jo Brady was born December 13, 1947 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to William and Ruth Maxine (Orr) Brady. She was a 1966 graduate of Maquoketa High School. Following graduation, she became a beautician, and later worked for the United States Postal Service in both Cedar Rapids and Morley, retiring in 2009.

Kathy loved stained glass art, flower gardening, sewing with the church ladies, baking, and especially her cats. She was very proud of and still owned her first car, a 1967 Mustang convertible.

Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Linda (Alan) Wood of Baldwin, her brother-in-law, Larry Ward of Maquoketa, nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Dean) Engel of Delmar, Joel (Melissa) Wood, of Baldwin, Jonathan (Jessica) Wood of Dubuque, Christine (Tracy) Russell of Coralville, and Anne (Ed) Mann of Columbus, OH. Also, great-nieces and nephews, Megan, Beth, Maranda, Mayson, Evie, Izzie, and Sam, and her great-great-niece, Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Janice Ward, and her brother Gary Brady.

Memorials may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church in Monmouth, the Jackson County Historical Society, or the charity of your choice.
