Yvonne Hamilton

Yvonne Hamilton, 86, of Canton, passed away, Monday, April 25, 2022, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on February 18, 1936, in Canton, IL, to Paul Andre and Louise (Wheeler). They preceded her in death along with four sisters, Pamela Marquardt, Charlene Carver, Charlotte Beard, and Carol Emery; one brother, Fred Andre; one son-in-law, Toby Bishop; and two daughters-in-law, Carol Dillman and Holly Dillman.
She first married Teddy Leroy Dillman on March 22, 1954. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1969.
She then married Rod Hamilton in September 1971, her husband of over 50 years. He survives.
Also surviving are six children, Rhonda Nolan of Havana, Robin Bishop (Wilbur Justice) of Havana, Russell Dillman (Luann Pripish) of Norris, Tamrah (Randy) Hamilton Weaver, of Canton, Bambi (Tim) Hamilton Bandle of Tennessee, and Rhonda (Kendall Rampy) Hamilton, two sisters, Debbie Funes of Canton and Kim Thunhorst of Missouri, one brother, Bradley Andre, seven grandchildren, Alex Mckenzie, Derek Mckenzie, Andrew Bishop, Kyle Dillman, Ian Dillman, Jenny Bandle, and Erin Bandle, four great grandchildren, Lennon Mckenzie, Aunika Mckenzie, Cooper Bishop, and Elijah Dillman; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored and was adored.
Yvonne worked in the Catalog Department of Sears in the 1970s. She later went to Spoon River College School of Nursing and worked as an LPN for Graham Hospital (Utilization Review) for many years as well as the laboratory and medical records department at Coleman Clinic.
She was an avid reader since she was a child, touting that a book was never a bad investment. She was a member of many book and card clubs. She loved to play Cribbage and win. She enjoyed exercising and taking care of herself. She liked spending time with her friends and her very close dear friends whom she considered sisters. She loved to travel to Europe especially London, where she watched the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, cruised down the Rhine River, and particularly enjoyed the tulip fields in Holland.
Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, making every holiday special. She was the most gracious host, opening her home to everyone. She loved her family unconditionally, and they returned the love right back.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to Fulton County Humane Society.
