"We just learned of this sad news. Although I?d spoken with Paula many times I only remember meeting her in person a few. One of those times was an invitation for my wife and I to come ride with her and Joe at their ranch on Bainbridge Island. We shared the afternoon and evening in their gracious company and I could feel the bond they had for each other. Our hearts are heavy for Paula and the family. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. "

"So, so sorry and sad to hear of Joes' passing. Having known Joe for over 60 years (he was my brother Ernie"s lifelong friend) may he rest in peace knowing he will be missed and fondly remembered as the good ol boy he was. Happy trails, Joe. - Rhonda McDowell"

"He was my favorite cowboy and I was proud to be able to call him Dad for the last 16 years and happy that my boys could call him Grandpa. I will remember his voice, his laugh and the many times we got together to enjoy a family meal and make ice cream at the farm. I will miss you. Thank you for all the good times and all the fun and laughs! Thank you for loving us!?? ~Lani Bartlett "
