Marilyn Gertrude Weigand left this earth to join God and her husband after peacefully passing away in her sleep at the age of 96 on April 15, 2022.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Marilyn. She loved being with family and friends and had the special ability to always find happiness and humor in everything she did. Marilyn was the epitome and pure definition of grace. She carried out her life with a strong belief and faith in God. She was someone who loved and cherished life, her husband and children more than anything in the world. Her calm nature, generous heart, fun laugh and wonderful sense of humor are treasures her family will carry and hold dear forever.
Marilyn was born in Queens, NY and grew up in Ozone Park, NY with an older brother and younger sister. During high school she met and fell in love with her future husband Charles. After high school she worked as a Sales Clerk and later on as an Administrative Assistant at Rochester Institute of Technology. She and Charles married in 1948 and together they spent 73 years as husband and wife building a wonderful family while living in areas of New York State. Upon retirement, they moved to Arizona, where they've lived for 37 years. During this time Charles and Marilyn became involved with their church and the Elks (Lodge #335). Marilyn was a beloved "Doe" and well known for her great baking abilities.
Marilyn is survived by her Children: Charles Weigand (Deborah) of Phoenix,AZ, Patricia Sorber (Robert) of San Rafael, CA, Janet Shipley-Murray (Tim) of Anthem,AZ, Joan Camardo (Paul) of Phoenix,AZ, John Weigand (Kim) of Litchfield Park, AZ, Lyn Weigand of Phoenix, AZ, 12 Grandchildren, and 19 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, William and Gertrude Riebau, her sister, Joan Riley , her brother, William Riebau and her son William Weigand.
