Rosie Lee Brooks
September 14, 1940 - April 19, 2022

Rosie Lee Brooks was born Saturday, September 14, 1940 to Daisy Mae Sawyer and Johnny Leen Brooks in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was the oldest of five children. She retired from OPS after 30+ years as a Food Service Assistant and after retirement she continued working in the labor force at Family Dollar and Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging. Rosie was very talented; she was a member of a sewing and ceramic club and enjoyed quilting among other creative art and crafts activities. She will be remembered as a mean sweetheart with a heart of gold! She is preceded in death by her Mother: Daisy Mae Sawyer; Father: Johnny Lee Brooks; Daughter: Yvonne M. Brooks; Siblings: Elvin C. Brooks, Johnny (Ted) Brooks, Charles (Muffy) Brooks, Mary Francis Brooks. She leaves to cherish in her memory her children: Larry, Anna, Freddie (Chuck) Brooks; Bestie/Sister from another mother, Velma Jones; sister-in-law: Anny B. Brooks, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, Jaiyan and a host of other family and friends.
