In loving memory of

Lucia Juanita Jones
September 15, 1940 - April 17, 2022

Lucia Juanita Jones, 81, formerly of Washington, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. How appropriate for this Pastor of nineteen years. Her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, always preceded everything she did.

The daughter of Paul and Fern (Winkler) Ham, both deceased, Lucia was born on September 15, 1940. She was the youngest of three. Her brother, Bob Morrison and sister, Janet Morrison, both preceded her in death.
Lucia married her one true love, William (Bill) Jones on August 11, 1956. They were childhood sweethearts, celebrating sixty-five years of bliss last August.

Lucia loved serving the Lord in any capacity she could. She taught Sunday School, was involved in the Walk to Emmaus, served as Interim Pastor at Asbury Chapel in Ragsdale, and lastly, she was the Pastor of Maysville United Methodist Church in Washington, where she ministered to her congregation for nearly twenty years. She also found happiness in singing, water skiing, bowling and watching sports; but, her greatest joy came from spending time and loving on her family.

Lucia is survived by her loving soulmate, Bill Jones; her daughter, Kim Elaine (Jones) Kixmiller, married to Kim Wayne Kixmiller (deceased); and son, Bill Jones, Jr., married to Cecile (Newland) Jones. Lucia loved on her six grandchildren: Kyle (Carolyn) Kixmiller; Kassi (Parker) Hayden; Kelsey (Trent) Whitton; Kam (Jane) Kixmiller; Joshua (Alodie) Jones; and Jeremiah (Amanda) Jones. Lucia's ten great-grandchildren were the joy of her life: Kinslee and Aspen Whitton; Liam and Everett Hayden; Nile, Esther, Roman and Selah Jones; Jaxon and Piper Jones. They will all keep in their hearts the love and joy received from this great-grandma.

Donations can be made in Lucia's memory to the Maysville United Methodist Church, 2993 West Old Highway 50, Washington, Indiana 47501.

A celebration of Lucia's life will be held at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, on Friday, April 22, 2022, 5:00-8:00 pm.

Lucia's funeral service will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, 11:00 am, at the Maysville United Methodist Church. Pastor Jason Johnston will officiate. She will be laid to rest at the Sugarland Memory Gardens. A dinner will follow, where all are welcome, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel.

Condolences may be sent to the family at edleemortuary.com.

The staff of the Ed L. Lee Mortuary is honored to be of service to Lucia Jones' family during their time of loss.

"Bill and family, I can remember the first time I saw Lucia. She attended church with Bill at Asbury Chapel. I think I was 8 or 9 and I thought she was the most beautiful lady I had ever seen. I was right she was beautiful inside and outside. Always loved seeing her . I know she is in heaven where she belongs. Love and hugs to all of you. Ruth King ( one of the Ragesville kids)."
