In loving memory of

Linda Hoffer
October 24, 1936 - April 9, 2022

Linda Hoffer, 85, a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on April 9, 2022. Linda was born in Canton, Ohio on October 24, 1936. She graduated from Lehman High School in 1954 and graduated from Bowling Green University in 1958 with a B.S. in Physical Education

Linda met her husband, Dwain, while square dancing and they were married in 1960. They quickly moved to Arizona that year and started their new life in Phoenix as Linda started her teaching career and Dwain continued his job as a pharmacist.

Linda taught P.E. and grades 1-4 mostly in the Paradise Valley School District for 32 years. She retired in 1993. Her impact on thousands of students over her years of teaching continues to be felt for many generations of families in the North Phoenix area.

Linda stayed active in her earlier life playing tennis, dancing, raising her sons and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years. She continued an active lifestyle with her family and was very involved with her surviving grandchildren Brandon-25, Ryan-23, Riley-18, and Tatum-16. She attended swim meets, basketball games, band concerts, other school events, Christmas caroling parties, beach vacations, and numerous holiday and family celebrations.

Linda's last years were committed to Dixieland Music festivals, intense Bridge and Rummikub games, researching health and wellness for the aging, family gatherings, and spending time with her beloved friends; all from living in Phoenix for over 60 years and her teaching days. She is survived by her sons, Brian and Scott, and daughter-in-law's, Pam and Allison.

A celebration will be held on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery at 10:00am. The address is 6500 E. Bell Road. In honor of Linda always sporting outfits of bright colors and wild patterns, please wear something similar. This was her request...no black. Wear a hat if you have a favorite. She would love this. Flowers will be accepted but Linda was a passionate lover of animals and the family requests that donations be made to Arizona Animal Welfare League at https://aawl.org. There will be a continued celebration of Linda following the service at Hansen's at the home of Brian and Pam Hoffer from 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM. Lunch and light snacks will be provided. Please feel free to join either or both of the gatherings held in honor of Linda Hoffer.

For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed at the following link: https://vimeo.com/713401227
