Warren "Bruce" Belisle, 74, of Marquette, passed away on Monday evening, April 11, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health & Hospice.

Bruce was born on March 10, 1948 in Marquette, the only child of the late Vincent and Margaret (McPherson) Belisle and was a lifelong Marquette resident.

Bruce graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1966 and then attended NMU for a time. He was employed by Frei Chevrolet from 1965 through 1975, leaving as Assistant Service Manager. He started working at the Marquette County Sheriff's Department from 1975 to 2000, retiring as lieutenant of the road patrol. He then worked as a U.S. Marshall eventually becoming Court Security Officer at the Federal Court House in Marquette, a position he held for 20 years.

During his free time, Bruce was a Little League and Junior Hockey coach. He volunteered for the Sands Township Fire Department and was also a former constable for Sands Township. He enjoyed playing senior pick-up hockey and also helped coordinate that program.

Bruce immensely enjoyed rejuvenating at his special place on Spruce Lake in Canada, affectionately referred to as "The Camp." He also enjoyed constructing Adirondack chairs and swings for friends; as well as feeding the deer, birds and other wildlife that visited his back yard.

Bruce helped organize the first annual Pigs-N-Heat Fire Relief Fund Hockey game, which began in 1983 and played in many of those games.

Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Beaudry; one daughter, Amy Jo (Chad) Brooks of Ishpeming; a granddaughter, Kaylee Logan Tourtillott of Ishpeming and Maggie, Bruce's own Toto as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

At Bruce's request, there will be no funeral service held at this time.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider the Marquette County Pigs-N-Heat Fire Relief Fund, 300 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI 49855 in Bruce's memory.

"I was so sad to learn of Bruce's passing. I worked in the court with Bruce for over 15 years, and he was so kind to me. He was an "old-school" gentleman, always opening doors and being helpful. He had such a good nature and would cheer me up if I was having a bad day. He enjoyed showing up close pictures of the deer in his yard. My heart goes out to his family and close friends---I'm sure he will be greatly missed."

"Sending my deepest condolences to the Belisle family. Bruce and I spent many hours fishing together while in our early teens; he was accompanied by his father Vince and I by my big brother Don. We had alot of fun and even caught a few fish along the way. There was plenty of humor shared within our group ; old fish stories, etc. I remember the time Bruce was attempting a long cast when his French Spinner found itself lodged into Vince's nose! While this seemed funny for a few seconds, no one was laughing when Vince let out a yelp! After a quick trip to St. Lukes the matter was resolved. and we got back to fishing. I will always remember Bruce as a friendly, kind-hearted man with a great sense of humor and fairness ! RIP Bruce Denny Ward"

"Bruce was my first Road Lieutenant while starting out at the Marquette County Sheriff's Office. Remember the yellow legal pad notes of what I did right, wrong and could do better vividly. Helped me become what I am and still use today "People skills and verbal judo" because its not all tickets and arrests. Asked many times why "Milburn" (Drysdale) did you leave the bank for this job law enforcement? Guys like Bruce kept me in for 30+ years and it is still where I am today now replacing him as the Road Lieutenant. Good man gone all to soon. My condolences to his family and and friends. RIP Lieutenant Bruce..."
