In loving memory of

Troy Dean Jones
October 3, 1934 - April 8, 2022

PARADISE VALLEY, AZ - Troy Dean Jones was born October 3rd, 1934, in Allison, Texas to Lloyd Jones and Myrtle (Holbrook) Jones. He became a Born-Again Christian and was Baptized in a community lake in 1950 at the age of 15. Shortly after graduating from Allison High School as a basketball star, he married the love of his life, Lona Faye Collins. The first 4 years of their marriage was spent in Lubbock at his alma mater to-be, Texas Tech University. Though he intended to return to his ranching operation after achieving his degree in Animal Husbandry, Troy was employed as an Assistant County Agent in Coleman and a County Agent in Benjamin, Texas. Following these positions, Mr. Jones moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he was hired as a Blockman for Allis Chalmers on the Mississippi Delta. Due to his exemplary service, Allis Chalmers asked him to be the Store Manager in their new Phoenix location, which he bravely accepted in 1965. Upon arrival to the valley, Troy, Lona, and their 3 children, joined North Phoenix Baptist Church in January 1966. In 1970, Troy bought the franchise, thus creating Southwest Tractor Co, later expanding to Buckeye. The following year, Troy was elected as a Deacon at North Phoenix Baptist Church, ordained in 1972, serving as a Deacon, Chairman, and on multiple committees over the years. Along with his ordainment, he also joined the Board of Directors at Baptist Hospital and Healthcare Systems in 1972, and, in 2000, was the founding chairman of the BHHS Legacy Foundation. In "retirement" Troy never slowed in his volunteer activities, nor his entrepreneur ventures in real estate and the oil and gas industry. Despite all his accomplishments, the glory of his life was his humble and faithful service to God. After 87 years of life on earth, Troy stepped into Eternal Life with the Lord on Friday, April 8th, 2022, reuniting with his Parents and Brothers: Harold, LA, and Billy Ray. He joyfully awaits Lona, his wife of 68 years; his children Connie (and Rick) Carpenter, Brad (and Tina) Jones, Jeff (and Tanya) Jones; his eight grandchildren; and (currently) nine great grandchildren; along with his sisters Kay and Sharon, to join him for eternity in the presence of our Lord.
