"My loving dad ?"
"Old man Matt...as I affectionately called him after catching him sitting on the back dock in a rocking chair staring off into the woods one day will be sorely missed. I have been so blessed to call him friend and to have the privilege of having him in my life through these past 5 years. I hope that you find solace through your grief and know that he is no longer struggling on this side, but soaring on the other. "
"My deepest condolences to the Scanlon Family. I will remember Matt for many reasons; most of all because he was a genuinely kind person. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, without being asked or expecting anything in return. He helped me out of many jams with my car, keeping it on the road long after I gave up hope on it. He was also the only human that my long-haired cat, Buddy, would allow to brush out the matted hair on his belly, without scratching him to shreds. Matt was also very appreciative of other people and was grateful for everyone in his life. May you find peace in knowing he is no longer suffering and has reunited with his Mom and Dad. May God bless you and comfort you."
"Words alone can't describe the loss of a father ,brother, uncle, nephew, and a papa. I remember Mat as a very small boy and so full of life and mischief , A smile that would light up the room. Mat you will truly be missed by so many but it gives me comfort your not in any more pain. Rest well Mat and please give my dad a hug for me.. The Jake And Pete story will live on till we all reunite again.. "
