Brendan A. Purdue
November 17, 1994 - April 9, 2022

Brendan A. Purdue, 27, passed away at his Washington residence on April 9, 2022. He was born in Washington, November 17, 1994, to Shawn Purdue and Sara (Taylor) Branum. He was married to Kristin Borhnstedt-Purdue, and she survives.

Brendan graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 2012. He was a chef for several years. He loved the NBA, cooking, making music, and writing sports articles for the Broken Jumper. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.

Those who now mourn Brendan's passing include: his parents, Shawn and Erin (Matthews) of Washington, and Sara (Taylor) and Bobby Branum of Virginia, and his wife, Kristin Purdue of Washington. He leaves grandparents: Christa and Larry Lemons of West Virginia; Susan and Gene Taylor in Washington; and Roberta Matthews and Joseph Catt of Washington. Coming from a large family, Brendan leaves his siblings: Kendall (Christian) Elliott-Wilhelm of Bloomington; Sabree (Gunner) Purdue; Alexis (Taylor) Elliott; Dalen (Avery) Elliott; Reace Purdue; Righley Purdue; Camden Purdue, all of Washington; and Lexi Taylor of Colorado. There are several aunts and uncles who were dear to him; as well as nieces: Selah Ray and Lennon James Smith of Washington, and Emberlynn Taylor of Colorado. Brendan was loved by a special circle of friends.

Brendan was preceded in death by grandfather, Randy Purdue.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the family in Brendan's memory for a special bench to be placed at a location yet to be determined.

Visitation for Brendan A. Purdue will be 2:00-6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington. His funeral will immediately follow the visitation at 6:00 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel. Yvonne Evans will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date.
