Loretta Jean Brady

Loretta Jean Brady (Leonard) passed away on March 10, 2022 in Whittier, California at the age of 90. She was born on May 3rd in White County, Indiana in 1931 to Vivian and Lucille Leonard. After the family moved to California Loretta attended and graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1949 and would later accomplish her B.A. in home economics with a teaching credential from Whittier College in 1953. It was in this same year that she married the love of her life, Thomas L. Brady, Jr. December 19th 1953 in Maywood, California. Together they welcomed two children and enjoyed their life in Maywood and Huntington Park until they settled in Downey, California in 1965. Loretta was an avid reader, skilled oil painter and known for her large collection of dolls. She was also a woman who was guided by her faith and trust in Jesus. Regularly attending or leading Bible studies and being an active part of the Whittier Area Community Church for most of her life. Loretta is survived by her two children, Kevin and Shawn; grandchildren, Pamela, Scott, Amanda, Samantha as well as 6 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
