Helen Ednie Keeley
January 14, 1926 - March 30, 2022

Helen Ednie Keeley, age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 surrounded by her family. She a was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Helen was born in Saltsburg, PA on January 14, 1926 to James Abraham Garfield Ednie and Fanny Luzetta (McKelvey) Ednie. After graduating from Saltsburg High School, she married Robert Edward Keeley and had three daughters - Pam Collette (Bob) of NC, Polly Ann Keeley and Robin Mitchell (Emmett) of AZ. Sweet Polly Ann died at age 2 due to complications from measles. After living in PA, OH and NC she moved to AZ in 1983.

Helen worked as a secretary at Federal Laboratories in PA during World War 2, as a clerk typist at Fort Lee, VA where her husband was stationed, a bank teller in NC, a meter maid in Pa and a nanny in AZ before retiring in 1999. She had a creative soul and delighted in painting, pottery, knitting and crocheting. Helen enjoyed bowling, cooking, reading and she absolutely adored each of her rescue pups. But most of all, she loved her family and was happiest when she was with them. Helen was a long-term member of Crosswinds Presbyterian Church of Phoenix and was very close to her church family.

Helen is survived by daughters Pam (Bob) and Robin (Emmett), grandchildren Kim Hall of NC, Kelly McPherson (Will) of NC, Mac Mitchell (Kim) of AZ, Taylor Mitchell (Sierra) of AZ, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her sister Betty Yockey of AZ, nephews Jim Yockey (Cathy) of AZ and Jack Maguire (Linda) of PA. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen's life will be celebrated privately by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Crosswinds Presbyterian Church at 20125 N 15th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027, the Arizona Humane Society or your favorite animal shelter.
