Sharon Ann Higgins
March 27, 1943 - March 25, 2022

Sharon Ann Higgins, 78, of Anthem, AZ, passed away on March 25, 2022. She was born to her parents John & Jane Higgins on March 27, 1943, in New York, NY. Her original birth certificate showed her name as Mary Jane Higgins. Her father was a mechanic originally from Ireland and her mother was a housewife from Philadelphia, PA.

She married and had three children, Greg Vasicek, Lisa Byer & Lori Conama. After her divorce, Sharon persevered and put herself through nursing school. First earning her LPN and then her RN while also working full-time to provide for her children.

She obtained her LPN from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Practical Nursing on August 4, 1978, and then went on to the Edna McConnell School of Nursing at Columbia Presbyterian and graduated as a Registered Professional Nurse on June 23, 1981.

Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse first for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY, and then for Montefiore Hospital, Bronx, NY until her retirement in 2008.

Sharon spent her whole life in New York until her retirement. She then moved to Anthem, AZ.

She was a passionate and avid reader enjoying many mystery and crime novels. She also read the Bible many times by making many notes. She loved Jesus and her family very much and her little dog, Lilly, too. Her daughter Lori fondly remembers her saying "Let go and Let God" whenever going through difficult times.

Sharon is survived by her siblings, John, Patricia, Nancy (Aniello) and James Higgins; her children, Greg (wife Helena), Lisa (husband John) and Lori; her grandchildren, Julian Quinones, Samantha Sullivan (husband John and their daughter Brynira), Morgan Poropatic (husband James), Taylor Sharpe, Brandon Kim, Jordan Sharpe, Cassie and Molly and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother.

The family has entrusted Hansen Mortuary & Cemetery located at 6500 E. Bell Dr., Scottsdale, AZ with the arrangements. An Event is scheduled for April 5, 2022, at 10 am. A reception will follow at 40127 N. Patriot Way, Anthem, Arizona. Pastor Rick Snow will officiate the ceremony.
