"I hardly know how to describe what Miss McCready has meant to me. She was my Home Ec. Teacher at MVHS and later I had the privilege of working with her. After school one day as we were evaluating foods from a class of rambunctious boys, she said ,"I'd like to give those young Yay-hoos a piece of my mind !". Instead, she gave them, and countless more students, a piece of her big heart! I'm so thankful to have had her in my life we are fortunate to have had her in our community for so many years!"

After graduating college she encouraged me to join the ISU Home Ec Grad club in Council Bluffs and we traveled to many meetings. She will always have a special place in my memories. "I am so sorry for your loss. Ms. McCready was one of my two favorite teachers in high school. She gave me a few of my favorite recipes that I still make today. She patiently helped me make a "Flashdance" sweatshirt in sewing. She loaned us a fancy punch bowl and cups for my grad party and came to the party to help me celebrate. She said she didn't go to very many grad parties, so I was honored. lwill send a donation to the Pioneer Trail Museum in Macedonia in honor of Ms. McCready--the best home economics teacher a girl could hope for!!
