Marilyn Sila, 78 of Malvern, IA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern. Burial will be in the Malvern Cemetery. Visitation with viewing will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern is caring for Marilyn and her family.

OBITUARY
Mabel Marilyn Sila, 78 of Malvern, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at her home.
Marilyn was born on January 28, 1944 in Malvern, the daughter of Wilfred Walter and Carmon Mable (McConkey) Kyle. She grew up in Malvern where she attended school, graduating from the Malvern High School in 1962.
Marilyn and Dean Larry Sila were united in marriage on July 8, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Malvern. They made their home in Malvern, after living throughout the United States while Dean served in the United States Army. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Cheyenne Scott and Christopher Shane.
Marilyn was a busy homemaker for her family. She loved her cats and enjoyed car rides, going out to eat, working crossword puzzles, and was a big fan of the TV show "Wheel of Fortune". Marilyn was a great cook and baker. Her lemon pepper seasoned chicken was Brittney's favorite.
Marilyn and Dean were married 53 years when Dean passed away on December 27, 2015.
Marilyn continued to live in their Malvern home with her granddaughter Brittney.
In addition to her beloved husband Dean, Marilyn was preceded in death by her father Wilfred Kyle; brother Frederick Kyle; and stepfather Bernard Capper.
Marilyn is survived by her mother Carmon Capper of Council Bluffs, IA; sons, Cheyenne Sila and wife Eileen of Pawnee City, NE, and Christopher Sila of Omaha, NE; granddaughters, Jennifer Sila of Springfield, MO, and Brittney Sila and her fiancé Kenneth Jenkins of Malvern; brother Dennis Kyle of Council Bluffs; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Kyle of Malvern; and other relatives and friends.

"I had lost contact with Marilyn since I left Malvern but fond memories remain! Her obit sounds like me - "loved cats, car rides, crossword puzzles, Wheel of Fortune". So glad we grew as playmates - Freddy was in my class - we all played in my grandma's yard next door!! Even with time gone by there are so many fun memories with the Kyle's! Fran (Benedict) Olson"

"Grams I never expected that I would be on here writing this. This is something that no granddaughter ever wants to have to do I keep telling myself it's a big bad dream but deep down I know that it's not I'm sitting here thinking of all the memories from when I was growing up and there are Never Enough memories to help what I'm feeling right now and I know that you and Gramps are up there watching over me and Brittney I love you and miss you so much already and I'm so sorry that I never got to see you as much as I wanted to please please watch over me and Brittney and give Gramps lots and lots of hugs for me okay and I know I never said this enough and I really should have but I love you and once again give Gramps lots and lots of hugs for us. I love you Grams love your oldest granddaughter Jennifer Marie "
