He enjoyed hiking and Jeeping off-road with his family, Cowboy Action Shooting, attending Car Shows with his Street-Rod and playing with his grandchildren.

After retiring in 2005, John and Jill purchased a home in Anthem, Arizona, where they enjoyed being closer to their grandchildren, going to the Anthem Country Club, attending Car Shows, and weekly breakfasts with friends.

John is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Jill Madzik of Anthem AZ, and their children: Kimberly (Don) Dopierala of Linden, MI, Kelly (Mark) Fenech of Prescott Valley, AZ, Kristie (Paul) Shosted of Anthem, AZ, and John Jr (Sahara) Madzik of Prescott Valley, AZ.
