Greece: Passed away on February 26, 2022. Peter is predeceased by his parents, Julius & Clara; son, David; step-grandson, Anthony Johnny DiMascio. He is survived by his beloved Angie DiMascio; daughter, Julia (Frank) Simmons; grandson, Ryan Gould; step-son, John (Gracie) DiMascio; step-grandchildren, Giancarlo & Angelina; brothers, Frank (Carmen), twin brother Paul (Madeline) & Stephen (Jane Casey) Teremy; brother in law, Freddy(Janice) Famiano; his Hungarian family including nieces, nephews, and friends.

Peter was born in Hungary and his entire family escaped from communist Hungary in 1957, immigrating to America where he graduated from MCC and RIT. His experiences formed his admirable work ethic and this was revealed with his design skills at work and home projects. Peter grew up playing soccer in Hungary and played with his two brothers on the Rochester All-City Team. Most notably, Peter had a great sense of humor and he livened up every gathering he had with family and friends.

Peter's life story will be shared during visitation 10:30 am until 12:30 pm Thursday, March 3rd at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. His funeral prayers will follow, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Peter Teremy's Life Story

On July 23, 1942, Clara and Julius Teremy welcomed their twin baby boys into the world. Peter and Paul Teremy were the middle children of the family, arriving after older brother Frank, but before youngest brother Steve. The family lived in Transylvania, Romania-Hungary. The children spent most of their youth there, but when Peter was just 15, all six members of the family escaped the circumstances there and made it to America. In Rochester, New York, they began their new lives together.

Julius got a job at Monroe County Hospital, while Clara was a full-time homemaker. Peter attended school locally; first at Jefferson High School, then MCC and RIT. He was known as a social butterfly in these days, frequenting his favorite restaurants and bars in the neighborhood for drinks, laughs, and conversation with his friends. Peter was a talented soccer player, too, excelling in the leagues he joined with his brothers. He loved making Hungarian wine, fishing, tending his garden, and going out for dinners with those close to him. After completing school, Peter worked as a tool maker at the Kodak facility on Elmgrove Road where he continued to make friends and welcome people into his life.

One day, Peter met Angela over 72 chicken wings at a local restaurant. She became his light, the love of his life, his "Angie". When they met, Peter was father to David and Julia, and grandfather to Julia's son Ryan. Angie was mother to Johnny and Gracie, and grandmother to Giancarlo, Angelina, and Anthony. The pair incorporated each other into their families' lives and built a life together. From then on, Peter called her his "Favorite Love Angie".

Peter was a welcoming and friendly soul. He readily invited coworkers, family members, and friends into his world with open arms. Peter extended his care and generosity of spirit to his beloved pet cat, Author, too. They had a special bond. Author came along on vacations up to the 1000 Islands every weekend, stayed snug under the blankets at the cottage, and listened to Peter's every command. Peter simply loved life, determined to enjoy every minute he had with Angie and his family here in America. He took life's challenges head on with his trademark saying of "Watch me now!!".

Peter loved America and felt passionate about the direction of the nation's leadership. He spent his Friday nights at the Barnard Exempt's Fish Fry, he loved watching the History Channel, and understood the complexities of the stock market (a skill he thought everyone should have).

Though he never shied away from hardship, Peter suffered with illness toward the end of his life. He endured pain and exhaustion as he tried to adjust to the reality of nursing homes and doctor visits. In the end, Peter accepted God and refused to let this illness overcome his spirit.

Peter was cherished by many during his lifetime. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
