"As you meet Bob for the first time, your mind plays games on you, and you wonder who this guy is. Very quickly the encounter turns to be a great experience in life. Bob is a great friend and a wild roquette ball player. His knowledge about the chemistry of minerals is great; however, he is humble to recognize that there are new developments that he wants to learn about. As I got to know him for few years at the YMCA, I looked forward to seeing him and engage with him about history and politics. It is with sadness that he left us. I will miss him dearly. I send my condolences to his wife, Jane and all the family. Mamduh

"Bob was a very kind and loving man, and super intelligent. I knew him from the neighborhood, and at St. John's Episcopal Church. I enjoyed seeing him walk
his dogs, and he would walk dogs of friends when they were ill or out of town. My best to Jan, Cathy and Charlie. Janet Conover"

"Such a tremendous loss for anyone that knew him, especially Cathi, Charlie (Chuck) & Jan. He was an amazing man that I was lucky enough to know, as I was his Travel Agent for many years & being a friend of Cathi's long before that. He lit up a room when he entered it & he had a razor-sharp wit that probably fell on some deaf ears & that was ok with him. RIP, Bob. You were the smartest person I ever knew."
