In loving memory of

Donald E. LaGrange
June 20, 1942 -

Donald E. LaGrange returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the age of 79.
He was born June 20 1942, to Everett and Jeanette LaGrange in St. Meinrad, IN where he grew up and attended St. Ferdinand High School. Don went on to attend the University of Evansville and graduated with a mechanical engineering degree. He worked at Crane Naval Base for over 40 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus Father Lawrence Vick Assembly. His love of travel and adventure took him to all 50 states and several European countries. Don's favorite place on earth was Yellowstone National Park. He was a devout Catholic and gave a great deal of time and energy to the Washington Catholic Schools, including endless summer socials, the Washington Catholic Endowment Fund and driving the school bus to multiple field trips and games. He was never happier than when his family was all together. His family will cherish the memories of many cross country vacations filled with beautiful sights and horrible car trouble. Many a card game was shared at the dining room table in which Don could remember every hand. He loved to "go alone" just when his team was on the brink of winning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gene, and grandson Kenny.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Jeannie LaGrange, "the prettiest girl in Southern Indiana", seven children: Jim (Shelley) of Louisville, Duane (Diane) of Washington, Matt (Melissa) of Euless TX, Donna (Michael) Adams of Evansville, Amy (Jered Ebenreck) of Albuquerque, NM, Lori (Steve Downer) of Seattle, WA and Sara (Kurt) Kelso of Washington, grandchildren Zack (Brittany) and Caleb (Theresa), Kasey, Brandt, Megan, Anthony, Dominic, and Timothy, Lucas and Ellie, Drew (Lindsay), Leah, and Emma Adams, Will Downer, Zoe, Kinsey and Cole Kelso, and great grandchildren Elijah, Everett, Lincoln, Amelia, and Theo, and lastly, his adored dog, Pepper.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 pm by the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington, Indiana.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Washington Catholic Endowment Fund P.O. Box 916, Washington, Indiana 47501
