In loving memory of

Gerard Munro
January 4, 1936 - January 15, 2022

Gerard Munro, 86, a resident of Phoenix, AZ. Passed away on January 15, 2022. Gerard was a beloved husband, father, brother, & grandfather. He is survived by his wife Cecilia, son Alain, daughter Daphne, brothers Jacques, Raymond, Stanley and Tony. Sisters Rosita, Sonia and Marilyne. Four grandchildren, Blaise, Alexis, Kaleb, and Vincent. Also, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Ghyslaine and Eva. Gerard was born on the island of Haiti. To Henri and Fernande, on January 04. He was the eldest son.

Gerard immigrated to the US in 1960, by way of NY. He moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1976. He would say "it's easier to shovel sunshine, than snow." Upon his arrival to Phoenix, he opened Monroe Spring & Suspension, which he owed and operated until 2008.
Gerard loved life! His favorite saying was "Life is Good!" To say he enjoyed dancing, is an understatement. When the music started, his body started moving. Entertaining friends and family, with his dance moves. He was a caring and wonderful man. He not only helped his family, but strangers. He could start a conversation with anyone. By the end, he had a new friend. Gerard touched so many lives with his charm and wit. He was always there to offer a kind word of advice or a funny story. The one thing most people say they will miss is his beautiful smile.

I want to personally, thank everyone for your kind words and prayers, during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of having Gerard in my life as my friend, longtime boyfriend and husband. He has left a hole in my heart. My only comfort is that I was there, when he crossed over. I held his hand to the very end...
