In loving memory of

Nancy Carolyn Stoike
December 10, 1944 - January 12, 2022

Nancy Carolyn Stoike born Dec 10th, 1944, in Los Angeles, CA, the only child of Ralph and Virginia Ziegler. She was preceded in death by her husband Dave Stoike in 2015.

Nancy was raised in Inglewood, California as a devout Christian attending 1st Baptist church in Inglewood California. Throughout childhood, religion, travel, and music enriched her life. She took many summer road trips across country which nurtured a love of traveling. Later in life she continued this love by traveling to Canada, Europe, Japan, and Korea. Her passion for music began at an early age with piano lessons, and evolved into singing in the church and school choirs. Nancy also had a love of animals, raising many cats of her own and cared for strays in the neighborhood.

Nancy's group of friends from high school and more from El Camino called themselves the Forever Friends. They met regularly throughout the years and even took many mini vacations together.

Upon graduation from Inglewood HS in 1962, Nancy attended El Camino College, procureing her education in elementary education with a focus on music. She then transferred to Cal State Los Angeles where she received a BA in music. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Chi sorority and furthered her education by studying aboard one summer in Germany and Austria with her friend Margie. Nancy continued her lifelong friendship with her college advisor and sorority sisters by regularly meeting with them for lunch to catch up on life and share adventures.

Nancy's teaching career began at El Monte Unified School District, teaching primarily 4-6th grades for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. Because of her lifelong love of music, Nancy enriched her student's curriculum by introducing music through playing guitar and piano and singing with them.

Upon retiring from a long teaching career Nancy pursued a second career as a licensed esthetician after completing cosmetology classes.

Nancy enjoyed singing in her church choir including singing with a quartet during the Christmas season dressed in Victorian costumes and visiting convalescent homes to bring Christmas cheer.

Those who knew Nancy were blessed with a friend for life. She will be remembered for her joie de vie and her devotion for the Lord.
