Amee Louise Rietz
February 15, 1976 - January 8, 2022

Amee Rietz passed away in Des Moines on January 8th, 2022 at the age of 45 after a short illness.

Amee was born on February 15th, 1976. Daughter of John Rietz and Barbara Rietz. Amee started off her education at St. Augustin's followed by Dowling Catholic High School. Amee excelled at school, and academics, but was also loved by anyone that knew her. She loved traveling and was fortunate enough to be able to visit every state as well as many countries. Amee lived in Tuscon, AZ and Pittsburgh, PA before settling back down in Des Moines, IA. She had a passion for riding horses which she did for many years and had an unbreakable bond with all animals. She was an incredible older sister to her 4 younger siblings, and a beloved little sister to her 3 older siblings. Anyone that had the opportunity to meet her knew that she was someone special, and immediately drawn to her.
Amee will be missed by her Mother Barbara, her 7 siblings, Leslea Phelps(Wendell) of Des Moines, Michelle Rietz of Des Moines, John Rietz (Christine) of Tucson, Luke Rietz (Jamie) of Tucson, Whitney Wargo (Matt) of Tucson, Mark Rietz of Des Moines and Matthew Rietz of Des Moines as well as her nieces Stephanie, Abbie, Lauren and her nephew's Ricky, Wilson, Alex, Harrison and Dylan. She is preceded in Death by her father John of San Diego and her Grandparents on both sides.

Amee will be greatly missed by all that loved her. A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date for Amee. In Lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue of Iowa (ARL).
