In loving memory of

Nancy K. Forsyth
December 21, 1942 - January 10, 2022

Nancy Kay Forsyth, 79, of Sheldon, MN January 10, 2022, died at her home.
Nancy Kay Thompson was born on December 21, 1942, in La Crosse, WI to Maurice and Pauline (Flatten) Thompson.
Nancy grew up on the family farm in Sheldon, MN. She attended country school in Sheldon and graduated from Houston High School and Winona State University. On June 29, 1963, Nancy was united in marriage with Dennis Forsyth at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. Nancy taught business classes at Caledonia High School. After the three boys were born, she left teaching to raise her children. She soon started working part time during tax season at Schultz Law Office. She started Bluff Country Financial Services with partner, Jean Carlson, in 1990. Nancy was well known as an expert in many areas of income tax, teaching seminars for twenty years in 49 states, D.C., and London. In recent years, Nancy and Dennis enjoyed several trips abroad. Ireland with Larry & John and Australia/New Zealand/Fiji with Kathy were highlights. Some of her favorite memories were made on the annual trip to Leech Lake and weekends at the boathouse. She liked to play cards and played bridge for over 60 years. She attended as many events as possible for her grandchildren. She was most proud of and adored her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephew. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston and served on many boards/committees including Mound Prairie Mutual, Houston Hoedown, and Houston Chamber. Lessons that Nancy taught her family are to never give up. Not on someone or something important. Be humble, kind and generous. It's not always necessary to say what you think. Do your best and love each other. And life's pleasures can be found in simple things, like sewing, flowers, birds, cows, and kids.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Dennis; four children: Patrick (Nancy) Forsyth of Houston, MN, Taylor (Tami) Forsyth of Eden Prairie, MN, Mitch (Heather) Forsyth of Lakeville, MN and Danielle (Steve) Walters of Houston; twelve grandchildren: Emma, Julia, Erica, Tyler, Sam, Riley, Katie, Victoria, Aiden, Josh, Erin and Alex; a sister, Kathy DeWit of Plymouth, MN; a niece, Ange (Nate) McCoy of Maple Grove, MN; a nephew, Jesse (Amelia) DeWit of Duluth, MN; and a close family friend, John Marmish of Hernando, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry and brother-in-law, Pete DeWit.
The family prefers memorials directed to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church or Valley View Healthcare.
There will be a public visitation for Nancy from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. At the request of the family, we ask that all in attendance wear a mask for the safety of everyone. There will be a private family funeral with burial at the Stone Church Cemetery.
Hoff Funeral Home in Houston is assisting the family with arrangements.

"I was so sad to hear about Nancy passing away. I was the miniature bride (flower girl) at her wedding. I was very little but I do remember a beautiful princess on that day, the bride, Nancy. My mother, Doris Johnson Westby, is Nancy\'s first cousin. Her mother, Pauline and my grandmother, Olga Johnson, were sisters. Please accept my sincere condolences and praying for the Lord\'s peace to you all during this sad time. Cynthia Westby Hoaglund"

"Nancy was so proud of all you \"kids\". She and I met at a tax seminar a long time ago and then saw each other once a year. It\'s probably close to 30 years since we were together. But I still giggle when I think of the fun times we shared. May your memories bring you peace and a smile at this time. Diana Klein"

"Nancy and her family are an integral part of the success of the local business community. She was a cheerleader for Houston through her business and non-profit activities. Whenever we came into the office she always had a bright smile and a message to greet our parents. She had some ideas to simplify our life and finances and her team spent multiple hours with us helping to manage things from a distance. Our family is so glad she hired, trained and retained capable employees who follow her example of giving back with their time and talents. The Cole Family "

"Dear Patrick, You and your family have been carried by my thoughts and prayers these heart wrenching days. I\'m so sorry. If I may share a memory; The Sunday performance of HHS Little Mermaid was one of my first public Houston outings since leaving CoC. I was anxious about the kind yet cautious greetings, but not your Mom. She stopped to sincerely say hello and catch up. She was genuine through and through. I will never forget that grace filled moment. I also had the joy and delight of seeing Emma greet her Grandma in surprise. ? I am grateful for how your mother has made a difference in the world. It is especially evident in her wonderful family. God certainly had confidence in her. May her memory be eternally blessed. ?? In Christ\'s love, Linda McPeak"
