Grace F. Gaudino
December 16, 1933 - January 9, 2022

January 9, 2022. Grace is predeceased by her husband, Samuel Gaudino & brother, John Ventura. She is survived by her daughters, Elisa (Charles) Pecoraro & Paulette (Don Crawford) Vangellow; grandchildren, Alexandra (Kevin Ryan) Pecoraro-Ryan & Cassandra Vangellow; brother, Anthony (Joanne) Ventura; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Lucille Ventura, Anthony (Joan) Gaudino, Teresa Gaudino & Immaculate Uttaro; several nieces, nephews & dear friends.

Though she lived through the 1960's and 1980's Grace didn't like "puffy hair." Maybe it was the mistake of a hairdresser who over-teased her hair or maybe Grace simply had her own style... after all she was born in New York City! She had fond memories of her time there as a girl; the neighborhood, the shops and schools. Her father delivered ice to the local tenements, and her mother worked as a seamstress. She was sandwiched between two brothers, John and Anthony.

The family eventually moved to Rochester where Grace attended grade school at both #17 School and Holy Family School. She went to high school at Nazareth Academy. One day a young man came to work on her parent's house, his name was Sam Gaudino. Let's just say, he was a hit in her book. They dated then married in 1954 at Holy Family Church. Sam and Grace were blessed with two daughters, Elisa and Paulette.

Grace helped support the family by working different jobs at Fincher Motors, the US Post Office and Eastman Kodak. She was very involved in her church. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish and then of St. Mary's. At Holy Family she participated in the Rosary Society.

She loved traveling. Every year the family went to Cape Cod. Other favorite destinations were Nevada, Texas and Hawaii along with many other trips. Her and her husband, Sam enjoyed the benefits of traveling together for the NYS Credit Union League.

Now anyone who knew Grace well, knew she had great pride in her garden. This love may have spilled over into her love of cooking shows like "Eating with Lidia" on PBS and inspired her love of clipping recipes. Despite all the cooking shows and clipped recipes, her husband Sam still wonders where the finished dishes are that he didn't get to enjoy!

Grace had many interests. She liked to play cards (especially a guys vs. girls Euchre match!), she listened daily to books on tape (preferably love stories or far-out alien adventures). She loved her trips to the casino where she shared her winnings in hopes we would keep bringing her back!

If she listened to music, it would be Italian classics, Josh Groban or Andrew Rieu. Grace was intrigued by TV shows about true crime or murder. Conversely, she was a Lawrence Welk fan as well! Saturday night at 7PM was her time to dance and sing... loudly!

Mostly, Grace loved spending time with her friends and family. It was a pleasure for her to simply chat with her loved ones. Those who were a part of her life will surely miss her.

Grace's life story will be shared during her visitation at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 & Long Pond Rd.) Thursday, January 13th, 4-6 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Friday, January 14th at 11 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Entombment in White Haven Memorial Park will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642 or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Grace's memory.
