Hazel Dudley
February 7, 1932 - January 9, 2022

Hazel Jean, daughter of Lawrence and Annabelle "Peggy" (Andrews) Parrott, was born February 7, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Ottumwa where she attended grade school and junior high school. Hazel then worked in a local restaurant.

On October 16, 1953, Hazel was united in marriage with Otis Dudley in Kahoka, Missouri. Otis was a lifelong truck mechanic and Hazel did housekeeping in local hospitals wherever Otis' job led them. The couple made their home in Des Moines, Glidden, Carroll and Phoenix, Arizona. In 1996, they moved to Bayard, Iowa.

Hazel was a member of the Bayard Church of Christ. She enjoyed camping, fishing, neighboring, coloring, doing crafts, watching soap operas, playing on her tablet and watching auto racing. Hazel especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and grandchildren.

On Sunday, January 9, 2022, Hazel passed away at Guthrie County Hospital in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She was 89 years, 11 months and 2 days of age.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Otis Dudley; a daughter Connie Goode; two sons Gary Wiseman and Bert Dudley; two grandsons Joseph Hoffman and Daniel Dammer; three great-grandchildren: James McDonald, Tiara Goode and Drake Lund; a brother Harold "Bud" Parrott; a brother-in-law Jim Dudley and a sister-in-law Rozella Ewers.

Hazel is survived by four children: Jeannie (Jerry) Brincks of Sioux Falls, SD; Janet Dudley of Bayard; Debbie Graves of Bayard; and Paul (Liz) Dudley of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter-in-law Tari Dudley of Madison, SD; 31 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Carolyn Potter of Bloomfield; two brothers-in-law Jack Dudley of California and Bill Dyke of Des Moines; a sister-in-law Janice McGee of Arizona; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
