"Tom was such a great guy! We didn?t know him as long as some, but these past 5+ years have offered lots of laughs, jokes, encouragement, some golf, and of course bowling and cards! He had a gift to make everyone around him feel special. I know I always did and Cal greatly valued his friendship and support. We will miss him! "
"I was a HS and UNI college classmate of Tom. He was an 8th floor Bender Hall guy and me on the 4th. Wow. So sorry for all of his family as he was taken far too early!!! I recall a night together our Senior year driving from DR to Millersburg when it was interrupted with his car meeting up with a Warwick farm milk cow on Diamond Trail. I can still see that cow rolling over the car hood :-/! Having moved away for a career there wasn?t much contact. Hearing of his health while back in September for our 50th HS reunion, I was so happy to spend some time with him at his home. We had a good talk on his deck that day. Tom was resilient yet realistic. He is a class act and taught me so much about grace and being a gentleman. RIP Tom! Hawkeye on Dude! "
"I'm Tom's youngest brother Steve. We had many memories growing up on the farm. I feel happy and blessed that family and friends were able to spend his final day together. He had an eloquent wit and sense of humor that made him admired by all. Rest in peace brother"

"I am one of Tom?s older sisters, Beth McClure Schwertfeger. We were close growing up, 1 of 5 siblings. We shared many stories of growing up on the farm. He never was one to complain and had such a great since of humor. He cherished his life with his wife, Patti, his children, Sarah & Jonathan and 4 grandchildren. I?m so thankful and blessed that we were all together to say ?goodbye?."
