Despite the shenanigans that the neighborhood kids were always up to, she was always patient and kind to us. Throughout college, I always looked forward to catching up with her when I?d visit home. "Sending our hearfelt condolences in the passing of your mom, Steve. In the 27 years we have worked together, I feel like I got to know your mom in the loving stories you told about her and also the funny ones of when you were growing up. I know you gave her the business as teenage boys do, but she also knew how much you loved and relied upon her even to this day when she was relying on you more and more. I remember meeting her and understanding what a wonderful mom to have raised such a caring, kind, compassionate man that I am lucky to work with all these years. Sending love and hugs and sympathies to you and Colleen. Pamela, Sean, Jake and Lia"

"My heartfelt condolences to Carolyn's son Steve and her entire family. Carolyn & I lived just two doors apart since 1974. She would call and say "Hi Carolyn 240. This is Carolyn 210". Our husband's worked together at IH. The concept of "IH/Navistar Retirees - Canton Group" was formulated around my dining room table by Carolyn, myself and four other ladies in October 2013. She and Jim rang our doorbell several Halloween nights in fantastic costumes. She always smiled and greeted those she met on her daily walks. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace 210."
"Dear Carolyn?s Family, Please accept our sympathies in the passing of Carolyn. We know that you will all miss her much. May God comfort you all and bless you with happy memories! When I was a pre-teen, Jim and Carolyn came trick or treating to my parents? home with Carolyn dressed and bearded as a man and Jim with makeup, dress, and heals. Their costumes were so good and the fact they kept silent, we truly didn?t know who it was for a long time. They played their parts and gave my family joy that evening to remember with laughter for years to come. I truly have many happy and loving memories of Carolyn, Jim, Steve, and the extended family. As Carolyn expressed in her Christmas card to us this year that she hoped to see us again soon? it will be in Heaven instead and we are happy that she is there because of her love of Jesus. God bless and comfort you all, JoEllen (Putrich) and Charlie Albertson "
"Dave & I knew Carolyn as members of First Christian Church and living on Gettysburg Dr, around the corner from her. Never saw her without a smile and she would tell me that when her house was built, the area where we live was just a filed. She had seen many changes and made lots of friends, both in church & around her home. Carolyn will be missed by all that knew her and I know our lives have been enriched having known Carolyn."
"I worked with Carolyn for 22 years at IH until it closed. She was one of the most gracious people you could ever know. She was always happy never knew a stranger and just a pleasure to know and have as a friend in my life. The first birthday card that came on my 80th was from her.
I am glad she was in my life and all the people at Harvest felt the same way I am sure"

"Steve, Colleen, and family, I was devastated to hear about the loss of your dear mother. She was a special lady and wonderful neighbor to my sister Lizzy and her family. She also loved to visit with their fur baby Bella on her long walks. I loved visiting with your mom when I was home, if I was lucky enough to catch her buzzing by. We always caught up on how you and Colleen were doing and all the family news. She was a proud mama! I?ll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Miss you Steve!
Blessings- Amy Patterson Reynolds "

"She was an Amazing Lady and Neighbor. She always had a smile when you would see her. Whenever she would walk by our house, which was often, she always made time to talk to you if you were outside. Condolences to the family"
"Steve, Colleen, and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Frank and I, and our son Matthew, lived in the house next door to your mother from 2008 to 2020. We loved being her neighbor! She loved her neighborhood and her neighbors well. She always had time for a visit ?across the fence? and loved to pet our little dog, Sadie. As Matt progressed through college, she always asked how he was doing. Of course, she kept an impeccable yard! We teased her that we mowed our yard once for every three times she mowed hers. ;). We live in North Alabama now, but we were in Canton for the holidays, and I had hoped to stop by and visit Carolyn, but then Matthew tested positive for Covid, and we all had to quarantine. I wish I could?ve visited with her once more. Please know your mom was both loved and respected by those who knew her, and we will certainly miss her. Please let us know somehow when her Celebration of Life is scheduled. I am on Facebook and Messenger as ?Lori Willis (Lori Shell-Willis)? in Huntsville, AL. Love, Lori and Frank Willis."
